Content Left Column:
Guest workers, foreigners, punks and dirt? In the 1960s and 1970s, Kreuzberg was always perceived as a marginalised district for the forgotten and outsiders of society. Today, the district looks very different. Although many still see Kreuzberg as the symbol of a multicultural Germany, a lot has happened in the borough in recent decades due to gentrification and ongoing debates about integration and migration.
Content Right Column:
On a journey through the streets of Kreuzberg, Gözde Böcü, whose grandfather settled in Wrangelkiez in the 1970s, reveals exciting stories that still characterise the quarter today. Between politicisation and neighbourhood life, the tour explores topics such as racism, resistance, religion and culture in migrant Kreuzberg. From the 36 Boys, 1st May demonstrations, Görlitzer Park and mosque events, you'll see it all.
The meeting point is near Schlesisches Tor. You will receive the exact location by email before the event.
