Central to Alsharq’s work is our blog at http://www.alsharq.de [2], which features critical but balanced reporting on the Middle East. Since we published our first article in 2005, more than 100 writers have contributed 2,000 background pieces — all unremunerated. Through press reviews, interviews, commentary, and political analysis, we seek to inform German readers about Middle East news that is generally presented with a Eurocentric bias or not at all.
