Why us?

Learning Arabic was never easier! Online access to our digital classes through Alsharq REISE allows learning your favorite language from the comfort of your home. We meet once a week to take a closer look at Arabic together, learn about the language's history, alphabet, and guide you smoothly to reading, writing, and speaking one of the most poetic languages known. 

Why Levantine?

Learning a language is always about engaging with the community and getting a true sense of what that language represents to locals, and how they interact on a daily basis. That’s why we chose for our course the Levantine dialect, one of the six main varieties of colloquial Arabic spoken across the Arab world, as it is the main vernacular spoken in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan. Compared to the Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), used more formally, Levantine dialect is easier to pronounce and understand, widely spoken, and more accessible, being adopted by most of the art and cultural movements in the Arab world

What are the learning objectives? 

In this course, we aim to refine your language capacities and broaden your understanding of Arabic culture. The curriculum encompasses five fundamental pillars, each designed to empower you with comprehensive language skills and profound cultural insights. In this course, you will further practice and reinforce essential grammar structures, including the past, present, and imperative tenses, through practical exercises that enhance your fluency in real-life situations. Additionally, you will master advanced grammar concepts such as conditional tenses, Subject nouns إسم الفاعل (participles), allowing you to express complex ideas with nuance. Engaging in diverse conversations about identity, feelings and emotions, personal characteristics, traditions and habits in the Levant, you'll delve into Arabic culture, polishing your speaking and listening skills to become a more confident and eloquent communicator.
